Survivor Outreach Services

Our SOS mission and purpose is to:

  • Expand and improve services to Military Survivors
  • Provide expertise on local, state and Federal Military benefits
  • Deliver individualized support and attention to Military Survivors in South Dakota

Each state and territory has a Survivor Outreach Services Coordinator (SOSC) appointed to provide assistance to Military Surviving Family Members in accessing benefits and entitlements, financial counseling, and providing connections with others who share the same loss.  The purpose of the SOSC is to provide long-term care, and to ensure that Military Survivors know that they are not forgotten.

SOS serves ALL branches of service, military statuses and causes of deaths.

"For us, there is no greater duty than to support the survivors of those who have served our nation."
